Russian lacquered box, traditionally painted by Dimitri Titov, Palekh (Palek, the legendary icon village, 350 kms from Moscow), homage of Monsegur Vaillant, interpreter of Rachmaninov at Ivanoka, to the Dissonance‘s composer, Sergei Rachmaninov.

At the end of Monsegur Vaillant’s recital at Rachmaninoff Hall (Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, Moscow, on the 8th of May 1993), a Russian student singer asked the interpreter to register Rachmaninov’s Romances, saying that she was the only artist to manage the performance of singing to her own accompaniment both piano and voice of Rachmaninoff’s melodies in a new and non pareil æsthetic.

Monsegur Vaillant has fulfilled her wish by recording, in Russian, 24 Romances of Rachmaninov, at Rachmaninoff Conservatoire, Paris (1999).
