Tristan & Isolt from Bayreuth to Monsegur The story of Tristan et Iseut – ‘a man, a woman’ –
creatures of clay garbed in flesh by Beroul, Thomas,
Gottfried and others,
a story which unfolds ‘behind God’s back’
as the saying goes in the land of the Midnight Sun,
at a time when the bow Failnaught shot only quarrels of fin’amor,
that story was first astonishingly told and retold,
in vain - you Doctors !-
I t was the glory of Richard Wagner
to have united in an eternel embrace
– with the help of the singer–
the couplet and the song, the ivy and the vine,
the draught and the cup.
As for the galaxy of Isoldes here observed,
among whom one can sometimes discern
‘the primeval noise of a world about to be born’,
it will be remembered that,
as far as Opera is concerned,
the Twilight of the Goddesses finally proclaims
- you, Choir-masters !-
the Star of the Transfiguration.

L ’histoire de Tristan et Iseut,
"un homme, une femme",
ces créatures de glaise telles
qu’accoutrées de chair par Béroul, Thomas,
Gottfried et quelques autres,
et qui se déroule "derrière le dos de Dieu",
comme on dit au pays du Soleil de Minuit,
en un temps où les carreaux étaient d’arbalète
et le trèfle toujours à quatre,
les Troubadours nous l’ont contée et re-contée
- en vain - ô Docteurs !
Ce sera donc la gloire de Richard Wagner
- interprète aidant –
que d’avoir uni en une éternelle étreinte,
le couplet et le son , le lierre et la vigne,
le breuvage et la coupe.
De la galaxie d’Isoldes ici observées,
d’où l’on perçoit parfois
"le bruit premier d’un monde qui va vivre",
on retiendra qu’en matière d’Opéra,
le Crépuscule (des Déesses) annonce enfin
- ô Maîtres de chapelle ! -
l’Etoile de la Transfiguration.

Tristan & Isolde von Bayreuth bis Monsegur
Die Geschichte von Tristan und Isolde – "ein man ein wip" -
diese Geschöpfe aus Ton, von Béroul, Thomas, Gottfried
und einigen anderen mit Fleisch und Blut ausgestattet - spielt sich,
wie man im Land der Mitternachtssonne sagt,
"hinter dem Rücken Gottes" ab, zu einer Zeit,
als von dem Bogen "Fehl-Nicht" nur Pfeile der "in’amor"
abgeschossen wurden ; die Troubadoure haben sie uns
zuerst auf erstaunliche Weise wieder und wieder erzählt,
und immer noch vergeblich – meine Herren Gelehrten !
Die Troubadoure, die aus einer Dame ihren Herrn
und aus ihrem Herrn einen Knecht machten…
Es ist also der Ruhm Richard Wagners,
Vers und Ton, Efeu und Rebe, Getränk und Kelch
in ewiger Umarmung vereint zu haben
- mit Hilfe des Interpreten -.
In dem Sternennebel der hier beobachteten Isolden,
aus dem manchmal das "Ur-Geräusch einer Welt,
die leben wird" ertönt, ist zu bemerken daß in Bezug auf Oper
die "Dämmerung der Göttinnen" endlich
- meine Herren Kapellmeister ! -
den Stern der Verklärung ankündigt.
